The M80H is where the Mini LED range starts taking gaming and motion seriously. The panel is 100 Hz native, variable refresh runs to 144 Hz and Samsung lists a 240 Hz DLG mode, on every size in the line rather than just the larger ones. All three HDMI inputs accept 4K at 144 Hz, so a console or PC can be plugged into whichever socket is nearest.
Picture work is handled by the NQ4 AI Gen2 processor, which brings 4K AI Upscaling, AI Customization, Real Depth Enhancer and Color Booster Pro to a Mini LED backlight running Supreme Mini LED Dimming. Auto HDR Remastering adds dynamic range to standard material. The tuner includes DVB-S2 satellite alongside terrestrial and cable, which the M70H below it does not offer.
A 100 Hz Mini LED panel with 144 Hz VRR on all three HDMI inputs is a genuine step up, and the satellite tuner settles a lot of Irish installs.

Motion, refresh rate and gaming
The 100 Hz native panel is the headline difference against the step-down models. Variable refresh reaches 144 Hz, FreeSync Premium keeps a graphics card and the screen in step, and Motion Xcelerator 144 Hz handles interpolation for sport. Because all three HDMI inputs run 4K at 144 Hz, there is no hunting for the right socket. The Game Bar shows frame rate and aspect ratio live, while Super Ultra Wide Game View, Mini Map Zoom and Dynamic Black EQ tune what is on screen.
Picture processing and HDR
Supreme Mini LED Dimming gives the backlight fine-grained control, and the NQ4 AI Gen2 processor decides what to do with it. 4K AI Upscaling cleans up broadcast and older sources, Real Depth Enhancer separates subjects from backgrounds, and Color Booster Pro holds saturation as brightness rises. HDR covers Mini LED HDR, HDR10+ and HLG, with Auto HDR Remastering applying dynamic range to standard content. There is no Dolby Vision on any Samsung television.
Tuners, smart platform and sound
The tuner block is the practical differentiator in the line: DVB-T2 and cable plus DVB-S2 satellite, so a dish feed needs no separate receiver. Tizen with One UI adds the Vision AI Companion, Live Translate, Generative Wallpaper and the Art Store, and a SmartThings and Matter hub is built in. Sound is 20 W over two channels with OTS Lite, Adaptive Sound+, Active Voice Amplifier and Q-Symphony for pairing with a Samsung soundbar.
