Description

NEFF N30 80cm Angled Glass Chimney Cooker Hood

An 80cm angled glass cooker hood rated A for energy, with touch controls, an intensive boost setting and up to 430 m³/h of extraction from NEFF's N 30 range.

The D83IDK1S0B stretches NEFF's angled glass hood design to 80cm, covering wider hobs while keeping the head-friendly sloped profile. The screen of black printed glass rises diagonally from the wall, so it reads as a piece of kitchen architecture rather than an appliance, and there is no canopy edge hanging over the front burners.

Its 220W motor extracts up to 430 m³/h in ducted mode at just 60 dB, and an intensive setting stands ready above the three standard speeds for wok sessions and rolling boils. Touch controls integrated into the glass handle everything with a fingertip, a filter clean reminder keeps the washable aluminium filters on schedule, and the whole hood earns an A energy rating at 43.8 kWh a year.

Eighty centimetres of angled glass gives wider hobs proper coverage without the head-height canopy that traditional hoods impose.

Ideal For

Wider hobs

The 79cm body covers more hob than a standard 60cm hood, catching steam from outer rings on larger cooking surfaces while preserving the open, angled profile above the pans.

Showpiece kitchens

In kitchens where the hob wall is the focal point, the sloping black glass screen works as a design statement, with touch controls hidden flush in the surface.

Ambitious cooks

The intensive setting, 430 m³/h ducted extraction and filter clean reminder suit households that cook hard and often, from stir-fries to long weekend braising sessions.

Key Features

430 m³/h extraction

The 220W motor delivers up to 430 cubic metres of air an hour in ducted mode, matched to the larger steam output of a wide hob.

80cm angled coverage

The 79cm-wide glass screen extends coverage across bigger hobs while its slope keeps the space over the front burners completely clear.

Intensive boost setting

When steam surges, a touch summons the intensive setting, lifting recirculation extraction to 550 m³/h until the air clears again.

A-rated efficiency

An A energy rating and annual consumption of 43.8 kWh mean the hood runs economically even in kitchens where it works every day.

Touch control panel

Speed and lighting controls sit flush in the flat surface, adjusted with a fingerswipe and wiped clean as easily as the glass around them.

Filter clean reminder

The hood monitors use and prompts you when the washable aluminium grease filters need washing, protecting extraction performance between cleans.

Coverage without the low canopy

Wide hobs normally force a compromise: a big horizontal canopy at exactly head height. The D83IDK1S0B avoids it. The angled screen rises from just 45cm above an electric hob, drawing steam up and across the glass, while the 79cm width reaches burners a 60cm hood would miss. You get the coverage of a large hood and the headroom of none, which is why angled designs have become the default in design-led kitchens.

Strong numbers, quiet delivery

On paper the figures are assertive: 430 m³/h ducted, 550 m³/h recirculating on intensive, a 220W motor. In the room, the story is restraint. Standard-speed extraction peaks at 60 dB in ducted mode, so the hood can run through an entire dinner's cooking without raising voices, and the A energy rating with 43.8 kWh annual consumption keeps the running cost modest. The twin LED lamps add 127 lux of neutral white light over the hob from just 3W.

Two installation paths, both credible

Convertible operation gives this hood genuine flexibility. Ducted through 150mm pipework, it removes steam and odours from the house entirely at up to 430 m³/h, the strongest arrangement where an outside wall is reachable. Recirculation mode filters air and returns it at up to 445 m³/h, or 550 m³/h on intensive, at 69 to 72 dB, so kitchens without a duct route still get serious airflow. The chimney spans 69cm to 90cm ducted and up to 97.5cm recirculating, the body needs 45cm above an electric hob or 65cm above gas, and at 11.3 kg it mounts on any sound wall. The filter clean reminder then keeps the washable filters honest whichever path you choose.

How It Compares

Kitchen Need NEFF Technology Practical Benefit
Wider cooking surfaces 79cm angled glass screen Coverage extends across bigger hobs, catching steam from outer rings that narrower hoods miss.
Leaning over pans Angled 45cm-clearance design No horizontal canopy sits at head height, so stirring and plating at the hob stay unobstructed.
Wok and boil surges Intensive boost setting A fingertip raises extraction to 550 m³/h recirculating until sudden steam and smoke clear.
Everyday running costs A-rated, 43.8 kWh a year Efficient motor and 3W LED lighting keep daily extraction cheap to run all year round.
Open-plan kitchen noise 60 dB standard maximum Full everyday extraction remains quiet enough for conversation to carry on beside the hob.
Busy household upkeep Filter clean reminder The hood flags filter washes itself, so performance holds up without anyone keeping a schedule.

The Verdict

Strengths

  • 430 m³/h ducted extraction with intensive boost
  • 79cm angled glass covers wider hobs
  • A energy rating, 43.8 kWh annual consumption
  • Quiet 60 dB at maximum standard speed
  • Flush touch controls in the glass surface
  • Filter clean reminder plus washable aluminium filters
  • Recirculation reaches 550 m³/h on intensive

Considerations

  • Ducted installation requires 150mm pipework; there is no 120mm option, so check your existing duct route before ordering.
  • Recirculation mode runs louder than ducted, at 69 dB on standard speeds and 72 dB on intensive.
  • The black printed glass shows fingermarks and cooking film more readily than brushed steel and needs regular wiping to look its best.
