The KUW21AHG0G is Bosch's Series 6 built-in wine cooler, sized for a standard 82 by 60 cm under counter niche and finished in black behind a triple-glazed glass door. It holds 44 Bordeaux bottles on three wooden grills with a telescopic rail, which makes it a serious piece of storage rather than a token wine drawer.

The important part is the two independent temperature zones, each served by its own cooling circuit and each adjustable between 5 and 20 degrees. That lets you keep whites and sparkling wine at serving temperature in one half while reds sit warmer in the other, in a single cabinet. The glass door uses three panels with a UV filter to keep light off the bottles.

Two independent zones in one 60 cm cabinet means whites at serving temperature and reds at theirs, without buying two wine coolers.

Ideal For

Serious collections

Forty-four Bordeaux bottles is a proper cellar's worth for a home, held on three wooden grills with a telescopic rail so bottles slide out without disturbing the rest.

Mixed drinking

Two independent zones let you store reds and whites correctly in the same appliance, each set anywhere between 5 and 20 degrees to suit what you actually drink.

Kitchen islands

The black cabinet, glass door and vertical bar handle are meant to be seen, and LED presentation lighting with a dim function turns the bottle display into part of the room.

Key Features

44 bottle capacity

Rated for 44 standard 75 cl Bordeaux bottles across three wooden grills, with a telescopic rail so a full shelf can be drawn out safely.

Two temperature zones

Two independent cooling circuits mean each half of the cabinet holds its own setting, anywhere from 5 to 20 degrees, without one affecting the other.

5 to 20 degree range

The adjustable range covers sparkling and white service temperatures at the low end and cellar or red serving temperatures at the top.

Triple glazed UV door

Three glass panels with a UV filter keep daylight and kitchen light away from the bottles while leaving the collection on view.

LED presentation lighting

Interior LED lighting with a presentation mode and a dim function lets you light the bottles for effect or turn the display down.

38 dB(A) running noise

Noise class C at 38 dB(A), which keeps a cabinet holding a compressor and two cooling circuits reasonably discreet in a kitchen.

How two zones change storage

A single-zone wine cooler forces a compromise: pick a temperature and everything lives at it. This cabinet runs two independent cooling circuits, so each of its two zones can be set separately anywhere between 5 and 20 degrees. In practice that means sparkling and white wine held ready to pour in the cooler zone, and reds sitting at a proper serving temperature in the other, rather than being pulled out an hour early to warm up on the counter.

Protecting bottles from light

Wine keeps best out of strong light. The door here is built from three glass panels with a UV filter, which lets you see the collection without exposing it to daylight or kitchen downlights. Inside, three wooden grills carry the bottles, and a telescopic rail lets a loaded shelf be pulled forward smoothly rather than dragged. LED interior lighting with a presentation mode and a dim function means you can show the bottles off, or leave them in the dark.

Fitting and running the cabinet

The cooler needs a standard built-in niche of 82 by 60 by 56 cm, and the appliance itself measures 81.8 by 59.8 by 58.1 cm, so this is an installation job rather than something you slide into a gap. At 40.5 kg it is a heavy appliance to manoeuvre into place, and heavier again once loaded. Bosch rates it at energy class G and 130 kWh a year, with running noise of 38 dB(A) in noise class C. The hinge is on the right and is reversible.

The Verdict

Strengths

  • Holds 44 standard 75 cl Bordeaux bottles
  • Two independent zones, each adjustable 5 to 20 degrees
  • Triple glazed glass door with UV filter
  • Three wooden grills with a telescopic rail
  • LED lighting with presentation mode and dim function
  • 38 dB(A) running noise, noise class C
  • Fits a standard 82 by 60 cm niche

Considerations

  • Energy class G on the current EU label, at 130 kWh a year, so it is not a cheap appliance to run.
  • Installation is required into an 82 by 60 by 56 cm niche, and at 40.5 kg it is a two-person lift.
  • The wooden grills are fixed rather than adjustable, so tall or unusually shaped bottles may not fit the stated 44 count.

What's in the Box

  • Wine cooler x1
  • Installation/user manual x1
