Description

Bosch Series 4 Built-In 60cm Induction Hob with Integrated Downdraft Ventilation

A 60cm Bosch induction hob with downdraft extraction built in, sized for standard kitchen runs where an overhead hood is not wanted or not possible.

60 cmHob width
4Cooking zones
500 m³/hMax. ducted extraction
BVentilation energy class

The Series 4 PVS611B16E puts four induction zones and an extractor into a single 60cm appliance. It is the straightforward member of the vented hob family: manual TouchSelect controls, three fan speeds plus a boost, no app and no connectivity to set up. For many kitchens that is the point.

The extractor draws steam down at the pan. Ducted, it runs from 330 to 500 cubic metres an hour on normal settings with 622 available on the intensive setting, and it switches on automatically when a cooking zone is used. Two of the four zones can be joined as a CombiZone for a roasting tin or a griddle.

There is no app, no account and no pairing. You put a pan down, the fan starts, and the hob gets on with it.

Ideal For

Standard 60cm kitchens

The niche is 22.3 by 56 by 49cm and the hob suits a 60cm base cabinet, so a vented hob becomes possible in an ordinary kitchen layout rather than a bespoke one.

Low ceilings

Where a canopy or chimney hood would sit awkwardly low over the worktop, downdraft extraction removes the obstacle entirely and keeps the space above the hob completely clear.

Straightforward cooking

Manual TouchSelect buttons, 17 power levels and three fan speeds with a boost. Nothing needs an account, an app or a network connection to work as intended.

Key Features

500 m³/h extraction

Ducted extraction covers 330 to 500 cubic metres an hour across its normal settings, with 622 on the intensive setting when a pan starts smoking.

AutoOn and run-on

The ventilation starts by itself when a cooking zone is used and keeps running afterwards on a low-noise setting to clear residual odours, or can be stopped manually.

CombiZone on the left

The two left zones join into one larger heating area for a roasting tin, a griddle or a fish kettle that would otherwise straddle two separate rings.

17 power levels

Nine main levels and eight intermediate steps on every zone, with PowerBoost taking the three larger zones to 3.7kW when speed matters more than finesse.

94% grease filtration

The 12-layer stainless steel grease filter lifts out by hand. The whole filter and liquid collector unit is dishwasher safe and easy to clean.

900ml liquid collection

A 200ml collector deals with condensate and everyday spills, with a 700ml safety collector below it for anything larger. Both are removable and dishwasher safe.

What the ventilation actually does

The intake sits in the middle of the glass, between the cooking zones, and pulls steam down before it can rise. Ducted to the outside, the fan covers 330 to 500 cubic metres an hour on normal settings and 622 on intensive, at 61 to 69dB. Recirculating through the supplied Clean Air Plus filter, the figures are 252 to 441 and 595, at 55 to 66dB. There are three electronically controlled fan levels plus a boost that reverts automatically, all set from the same TouchSelect panel as the hob.

A deliberately simple control layout

TouchSelect means imprinted plus and minus buttons rather than a slider or a menu system. You choose a zone and step the power up or down through 17 levels, nine main and eight intermediate. Quick Stop switches a zone off with one longer touch, QuickStart picks up whichever zone already has a pan on it, and ReStart restores everything if the hob is switched off by accident within four seconds. There is no Home Connect on this model, so nothing depends on a network.

Fitting a vented hob into 60cm

The appliance is 22.3cm deep below the glass and 59.2cm wide, needing a niche of 22.3 by 56 by 49cm in a worktop at least 16mm thick, and it suits a standard 60cm base cabinet. Net weight is 23.3kg, which the worktop has to carry. The cupboard below must stay reachable from underneath for the lower liquid safety collector. Bosch supplies a slider and a Clean Air Plus odour filter for unducted recirculation; ducted installations need separate accessory kits.

How It Compares

Kitchen Need Bosch Technology Practical Benefit
Standard kitchen run 60cm vented hob Downdraft extraction fits a normal 56cm niche and a 60cm base cabinet without redesigning the kitchen
No overhead hood Integrated downdraft extraction Steam is drawn down at the pan, leaving the wall or ceiling above the worktop clear
Frying and searing 622 m³/h intensive setting A short burst pulls smoke away from a hot pan before it drifts through the room
Large roasting tins CombiZone on left pair The two left zones join into one area so oversized cookware is heated across its base
No external wall Recirculation mode A Clean Air Plus filter and slider are supplied, so the hob can run without any outside duct
Keeping it simple Manual TouchSelect control Power and fan speed are set with imprinted buttons, with no app or account involved

The Verdict

Strengths

  • Induction hob and extractor in a 60cm appliance
  • Up to 500 m³/h ducted, 622 m³/h on intensive
  • 17 power levels with PowerBoost on all zones
  • CombiZone joins the two left zones
  • 94% grease filtration, dishwasher-safe filter unit
  • Frameless black ceramic glass, 23.3kg net weight
  • Works entirely from the hob, no app required

Considerations

  • This Series 4 model has no Home Connect, so there is no app control, remote checking or automatic hood pairing.
  • The lowest ducted fan setting is 61dB, noticeably higher than the quietest setting on Bosch's Series 6 vented hobs.
  • Only unducted recirculation accessories are included; ducted extraction requires separate Bosch kits, and odour filters last 360 cooking hours.

What's in the Box

  • Induction hob with integrated ventilation x1
  • Slider for unducted recirculation x1
  • Clean Air Plus odour filter x1
  • Installation/user manual x1
