Description
Twelve kilograms is a serious drum. The Belling BFW1214 takes bulky bedding and the week's washing for a large household in fewer loads, and its Silenzio inverter motor keeps the noise down while it does it. A 1400rpm spin leaves the load at 53.9% residual moisture, so there is less to dry afterwards.
Sixteen programmes are chosen on the dial and shown on a full LED digital panel, with 15 and 45-minute rapid washes for the days when something is needed quickly and a delay start for the days when it is not. On the Eco 40-60 programme it is rated A for energy at 54kWh per 100 cycles and 57 litres of water a wash, and it holds its 1400rpm spin at full, half and quarter loads. The white cabinet is a standard 59.5cm wide and 59.5cm deep.
What stands out
12kg capacity
Takes bulky bedding and a large household's weekly wash in fewer loads, with a 1400rpm spin that holds its speed at full, half and quarter loads.
Silenzio inverter motor
Belling's inverter motor keeps running noise and vibration down; the spin phase is rated class C at 78dB.
Sixteen programmes
A dial selects the programme and a full LED digital panel shows the selected settings.
Rapid washes
15 minutes for a few lightly worn items, 45 minutes for a fuller load in a hurry.
Delay start
Set the cycle to start later so it finishes when you get home or runs overnight.
Class A energy
54kWh per 100 Eco 40-60 cycles and 57 litres of water a wash, with an energy efficiency index of 52.
Class B spin drying
The 1400rpm spin leaves 53.9% residual moisture, cutting the time the load needs on the line or in the dryer.
